3 x shirt styles to try for Summer 2019

Most of the time, I'm making subtle changes to client's wardrobes. It's not necessarily about having the big "ta-da....male makeover moment" but about introducing you to small changes that make a difference. This could be by using more colour, pattern, different shapes or a better fit.

Here I've picked out 3 shirts with slightly different collar styles that you may not have tried before, but which may add some variety to your wardrobe and not just feel like you've bought yet another generic pale blue or white shirt.

Let me know if you give one of them a try!

Gitman Vintage camp collared shirt personal styling for men in UK

Camp collar shirts are great for summer with their flattened, open necklines. Make the change subtle, by sticking to familiar blue tones and an easy chambray fabric. Wear it with shorts and espadrilles for casual weekends or a pair of stone chinos and suede loafers for a smarter summer look. Or you could even layer over a crew neck white t-shirt with dark jeans to give it a bit more of a workwear style.

Officine Generale collarless shirt personal shopping for men in London

A couple of days ago I ordered this very shirt for a client who's gone off to Glastonbury this weekend. I knew he'd love it, as on a previous shopping trip we bought a collarless shirt which has become his favourite. I decided to build on that success, and add in something with subtle detailing in the pattern and the seersucker texture. That makes it a touch smarter but not overdone as he's an understated sort of guy and yes, he loved it!

Oliver Spencer pale pink short sleeved shirt - personal styling shopping for men

Instead of a button through short sleeved shirt, you could try one of these half placket styles. It makes it a great alternative to a polo shirt but a little bit smarter. These are the small differences I like to find, so if you buy something new, it feels different and yet, not so different you won't wear it.

Next time you go shopping, give one of them a try - and if you need a hand, do get in touch.

"Sarah! A spectacular success! My husband loved the shopping trip and has come home with some great things. Thank you so much! Everything is stylish and yet very casual, which is just right. Love the shirts and the shoes. Thanks so much for all the work and for making him feel and look special. "
