5 x Hiking boots
Finding your trainers aren't quite cutting it in this cold, wet and (depending where you are in the country) snowy weather? It might be time to replace your trainers for the moment to something more substantial like these hiking boots. I've picked out some that I've seen around which will suit different tastes and options, so whether you're in the city or the country, hopefully you'll find something you like here.
Don't you just love this pebbled leather look and the rich chocolate brown of these Grenson boots? They've got insulated shearling linings to keep your toes toasty and are cut a little wider than normal so you can wear thick socks.....a nice thoughtful detail. Though you may not be hiking any mountainous terrain this weekend, the lightweight 'rubber-lug' soles will still keep you from slipping in the snow even if that's just in your local park.

If you fancy a bit more of a rugged look than your chukka boots, then take a look at these black hiking boots from Russell & Bromley. They've got comfy padded ankles which mean they won't dig in and will give you extra support too. The smooth black calf leather is a great choice if you're a classic dresser and struggle to dress down on the weekends. Try them with grey jeans, black cords or your joggers.

Love wearing trainers but they're just not as practical as you'd like during these cold, wet months? Try out these boots from Diemme. They have waterproof Cordura uppers and Vibram soles so you can go way beyond those 10,000 steps per day and still have comfortable dry feet. They'll look great with jeans, navy molekin trousers, or as they've styled them here with khaki chinos. You can also wear them once we get into spring and summer with light beige chinos and even shorts.

You probably won't be climbing any mountains in these but if you want a sturdy pair of boots for city living then you these are a great choice. Sleek and shiny they'll be perfect now for walks around your neighbourhood and take you out to the bar when we're out of lockdown. If you want an alternative to trainers to wear with drawstring waist trousers (like these or these) then these will look great.

A super stylish hiking boot in navy suede with black rubber with a padded lining. Nothing shouty about these, just understated and getting the job done of carrying you around in comfort all day, whilst looking good. As you can see they look great with jeans either indigo or a lighter blue, and they'll also go with grey and black or if you're feeling more adventurous, burgundy and dark green.
'Everest' suede hiking boots - Diemme at Matches - £370
