Aviator jackets

You may not be flying a plane any time soon but that's no reason not to invest in an aviator jacket this winter. Practical, warm and hardwearing, I've picked out some of my favourites that you might want to add to your Christmas wishlist.

Coach at Mr Porter  - £1,250 - the contrast collar on this jacket gives it an unusual edge. Wear with a brushed cotton check shirt and black jeans for weekend jaunts.

Belstaff Campbell Blouson - £1,295 - Give this soft brown aviator jacket a classic fifties feel by wearing with a pair of 501's and a chunky cream sweater.

Ami at Matches - £1,040 - a sleek take on the classic aviator style, wear with a black roll neck and slim trousers for a beatnik vibe

Schott NYC at Harvey Nichols - £1,370 - you need to be pretty well built to take on this monster of a jacket! This will definitely keep chills at bay with it's shearling lining - wear with jeans and heavy duty boots to tackle the coldest of days.

Bally - £2,150 - a handsome city aviator with it's detachable shearling collar this would look great for a smarter look with dark navy moleskin chinos and tan loafers as well as with jeans at the weekends.
