Best & most comfortable travel trousers for men in 2023
Quite often when I do a personal shopping trip for men, clients have asked if I can find them comfortable trousers that don't crease, as they're travelling for business or pleasure. They still want to look smart, but want the trousers to be easy to look after during their trips, which means no ironing, plus easy washing / drying as well if possible.
I've been asked this on a couple of recent men's shopping trips, so thought I'd share my go-to places to shop for these type of trousers.
Let me know if you buy any, or if you have other requests too and would like to book in for your own personal shopping trip for men then contact me here.
These have a lovely soft, smooth feel to them, but they look like cotton. I love the fabric and if I was a guy, I'd be buying them! Stretchy, quick drying and crease resistant - what more could you ask for from a pair of trousers? Perfect for travelling - whether that's on a plane to far flung destinations, or on the commute into work.
You can see from the images that you can style them casually as they have done with the khaki ones, or click through to see the navy ones and how they work well for a smarter look too. I'd put them with a fine knit sweater and trainers for casual and a collarless shirt with the jacket in the matching fabric if you'd like a smart casual suit that doesn't look too corporate.
'Tekno Gab' slim fit trousers - £300 - Slowear
This pair have a 4 way stretch, so again will be super comfy. They're a pretty slim cut so they won't work if you have big thighs or calves but if your legs are slim, they'll be a great choice to pack or wear when you're flying. Once you get to your destination, use them for a business casual meeting with an unstructured grey blazer (one of my clients bought this one - it's fab!) and button down shirt, then swap for a t-shirt or sweatshirt and trainers for drinks in the evening.
They also come in charcoal and black, plus sand which are on sale. In the reviews, most people said they're true to size, though one or two say they come up small. There's no options of leg lengths - it seems they're cut quite long so if you're 6'1"-6'3" they'll be fine, otherwise you'll need to get them taken up.
Blue 'Neoteric Zaine' pants - £185 - Theory
A slightly different vibe with these, as they're a 5 pocket jean style, so a bit more casual. They also have the 4 way stretch, so mega comfy and these are not too slim (my client got these, as he found the Theory ones too skinny) - more of a slim straight style. There's loads of colours available, so take your pick!
I often buy these sort of trousers with clients on our shopping trips. Now things have gone more casual at work they can wear them with a shirt, blazer and Chukka boots / brogues, and then dress them down for weekends with a casual jacket and trainers.
'Adler' tapered classic 4 way stretch twill trousers - £270 - Citizens of Humanity
I was searching for golf trousers for a client last week and these popped up when I looked online. Lots of my clients like and wear Spoke so I thought I'd include them here, as you could wear them anytime really....you don't necessarily have to play golf!
They've got a stretch waistband, zip pocket and are in lightweight water-repellent fabric (handy for the recent weather we've been dished up in the UK this Spring!) And if you don't know Spoke already, you can get all the in-between waist sizes, and leg lengths and they have different 'builds' to suit different legs - so if you're a chunky thigh guy, or chicken leg guy, you'll both be sorted!
'Condors' golf chinos in eclipse - £150 - Spoke London
Lululemon were my first port of call for a client who was going on a trip recently and wanted some comfortable but smart trousers that were easy to pack and didn't need ironing. They come in 2 different fits - slim, and classic which is a slightly wider leg, and there's also an alternative 5 pocket jean style if you prefer that look.
As with the others above, they're great for a sporty look, like they're styled in the picture above, but can be worn in place of regular chinos for smarter occasions too.
And a quick note.........don't think if you're a larger size, they'll be too clingy - I've tried them before with someone who was a 40" waist and wanted a pair of trousers to cover a variety of sporty and formal situations he had coming up on a trip, and these looked great on him!
'Commission' classic fit pants in Warpstreme fabric - £118 - Lululemon

Here's what one happy client said a few months after we'd done a personal shopping trip:
"Just wanted to say that I was at a friend's house last night wearing the brighter jumper, blue trousers & white shirt which you picked out for me.
One of my friends commented on how smart I was looking & then a group of my female friends who were listening said how much they thought the colour suited me. It's a really vibrant colour & I love it but I don't think I'd have had the courage to pick it out for myself.
That's exactly why I came to you for your help. It felt so great to get such compliments so thanks so much for your help and advice.
You really know your stuff! Look forward to seeing you again in the Spring".
