Best lightweight & waterproof rain jackets for men
Guess what inspired me to choose this topic for my blog post? Yup - it's absolutely pouring with rain outside right now.
And as I know you guys like to have a large helping of practicality in your wardrobes, I thought I'd give you a helping hand to make sure the next time you go to upgrade your "anorak", it's to something understated and stylish as well as being lightweight and waterproof.
This jacket is just made to have adventures in. It's got a long list of attributes including being waterproof, breathable, and having a stormproof hood and water-repellent zips. I like the minimalist design with discreet logo and love this colour too.....but if you don't, no worries, as there are 10 other colours to choose from.
'Kento' hooded hardshell jacket - Mammut - £190
If you fancy a slightly more urban look but still want to keep nice and dry then opt for this lightweight and waterproof jacket from Paul Smith. Made of recycled polyester, it looks sleek and smart and has the signature Paul Smith stripe detail down the front. And if you want to go all out to brighten up a rainy day, then finish off your outfit with this neon green umbrella by London Undercover.
Navy recycled polyester waterproof harrington jacket - Paul Smith - £250
Most activewear brands seem to suffer from an overload of logos, colours and details for my liking. Granted, some of the details are essential but I much prefer the way Arc'teryx retain all the functionality, but manage to do it in their superbly understated way. So this jacket will look just as good on the street as on the mountain top and practical for both.
'Fraser' Goretex hooded jacket in agra - Arc'teryx - £400
Private White VC is always my first port of call if I'm looking for outerwear, and they didn't disappoint with this Ventile Harrington jacket. In this dark racing green with their signature copper hardware, it's just the thing you need (but might not realise until you get it) for smart casual occasions when you need to stay dry but look sharp.
'The Ventile Harrington' rain jacket in British racing green - Private White VC - £495
If you're one of those people, that's heading back into the office this week and you've decided to take the government's advice on cycling to work, then hop over to Rapha's website and get yourself one of these rain jackets. Another streamlined, subtle style with flashes of bright pink for visibility, this is made in a soft stretch fabric for a comfortable fit on or off your bike.
Men's hooded rain jacket II - Rapha - £230
