Three transitional jackets for Autumn
There's a definite nip in the air today, the heatwave is a distant memory and I'm finally thinking about transitioning through to winter when I do wardrobe edits and personal shopping trips with clients.
There are many different styles of casual jackets to choose from at the moment - the bomber jacket is still going strong, there's lots of cord around and denim with shearling collars. But for a change I like these chore jackets, also known as a workwear jacket or a variation is a shacket (a hybrid of a shirt and jacket style).
Here are some of the ones I've spotted around that I think would fit easily into your wardrobe.
Albam are great for a relaxed workwear style. I'd style this with a chambray shirt, casual chinos and Red Wing boots for Autumn and switch to a cream roll neck and cords when we get deeper into Winter.
Milano work jacket in olive - Albam - £245
You just can't really go wrong with navy can you? This could be worn in a slightly more formal way, with the flannel trousers from my previous post, and a white button down shirt and white trainers and of course it would be perfect with jeans and a sweatshirt too.
Navy wool Mondy jacket - Paladrin at Opumo - £230
It wasn't until I saw a Private White VC jacket in a client's wardrobe, that I really appreciated just what a great cut they are and how they set themselves apart from other brands. In Summer, one of my favourite pieces I bought with a client was a cotton shacket, so I love the idea of a Winter version in brown herringbone too. I like these styled either over another shirt or layered over a crew neck sweater.
Brown herringbone The Shacket - Private White VC - £295
