Camp collar shirts
Short sleeved shirts can be slightly tricky to get right - as one client put it - they can look a bit "coach driver" - I knew exactly what he meant!
They do have their practicalities though & the ones I've got my eye on this summer are camp collar styles. Wear them with a short sleeved white t-shirt under & instantly you've got an air of 50's cool rather than 50 year old coach driver!
Here's a selection, if you fancy trying one out this summer:
Battenwear Five Pocket Island Shirt at Kafka - £185
Inspired by 70's surfwear, this shirt is just crying out to be accessorised with a cocktail and some hula girls in the background! In versatile chambray, wear it open over a white t-shirt with some tropical print shorts, or go more classic with khaki chinos and trainers.
Hartford white linen shirt at Mr Porter - £95
If the camp collar is a bit of a departure from the norm for you, then keep the rest of the detailing simple and choose ultra classic, beautiful white linen. Great for holidays with shorts or style as above for a balmy day in the city.
Gitman Vintage shirt at Trunk Clothiers - £165
Get stylish in stripes with this shirt reinterpreted from Gitman Bros vintage range. Play with pattern and wear over a navy & white horizontal striped t-shirt and plain navy chinos.
Jigsaw poplin shirt - £75
This Jigsaw shirt gives a nod to the trend for retro bowling shirts but is a bit more wearable being a plain fabric. I love the rich colours it comes in and this shade will surely add a bit of spice to your summer outfits?
Albam Panama shirt in Liberty print - £139
Cut in a boxy shape, this shirt is an easy breezy one to add to your summer wardrobe. Put it with stone coloured chinos and a denim jacket for a summer brunch or a white t-shirt and dark indigo jeans for an evening BBQ.
"Thank you again. My partner loves all the pieces and says you were absolutely "spot-on" with the color choices and the pieces. I too am extremely happy with it all and look forward to our next session in a few months time."
