Country Style / City Life - Sale Picks
I've been checking out the sales and if you fancy stocking up with a few new pieces to see you through the rest of winter then listen up. I've chosen a few key items - a pair of cords,a tweed jacket, a chunky knit sweater, and a pair of burgundy boots, and styled up some variations with these pieces. An update of accessories will also revive your wardrobe so you can face the remaining months of winter in style.
1. A chunky knit sweater
Bold colours will brighten up the dullest of January days or stick to neutrals for versatility. Use subtle detailing - like the outside seam on the cream YMC jumper or the textured knit on the navy Folk sweater to give a point of difference. Wear with a tweed jacket for a smart casual look and layer up underneath with a t-shirt and shirt on frosty mornings.

2. A tweed jacket
A great choice for a winter basic, this sale pick definitely won't go to waste. A tweed jacket can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion eg: Wear with a white button down shirt, grey flannel trousers and a knit tie for a formal occasion, or with a sweater and cords as shown here for smart/casual. And it could even be teamed with jeans, a sweatshirt and some Stan Smiths for kicking back at weekends. Choose between slouchy and unstructured or form fitting and sharply tailored according to your taste.
3. A pair of cords
When shopping with clients, I find that introducing subtle changes to a man's wardrobe adds diversity without straying too far from their comfort zone. Look for some cord jeans in the sales, to add variety to your winter wardrobe, whilst still being comfy and casual. Add a fresh feel to dark winter days with an ecru or mustard pair or choose navy or charcoal neutrals to wear with brightly hued sweaters.

4. Some burgundy boots
A pair of boots are a great alternative to trainers for weekends and the burgundy leather is not only a touch smarter, but makes a welcome change from black or brown. Still neutral enough to be versatile, they look great with jeans, cords or tweedy textured trousers. Scour the sales for the perfect pair and I have no doubt you'll be glad you got them.
