Great greys - Sale picks

Grey features heavily in a lot of men's wardrobes and the sales are a great time to replenish classic items rather than buy into trends. Although sales can sometimes be full of weird and not so wonderful things, there are also some great items to be sought out.

Here are some of the best pieces I've found, either with clients earlier in the year or searching around online, all of which are now on sale........some even have a rather scrumptious 50% off!

This has been a favourite jacket of mine this season. There's hardly any left so if you want to bag yourself a bargain blazer, you'd better hurry. This striped scarf complements it nicely and will also look great worn with a grey marl sweatshirt and numerous other things.

Roll necks have been very popular this winter, perhaps due to a certain Mr J Bond sporting one. It's a classic piece in grey amd this one is given a little extra excitement with the contrast detail at the hemline. Perfect for weekends with this casual beanie, it could also be dressed up when worn under a blazer.

I've had great success with clients buying Gant Rugger trousers this year and this pair are a perfect example. Cut in a flatteringly slim way, they have a great shape and can be worn with a shirt, blazer and a subtle pocket square like this one, or more casually with a sweater and boots.

Whilst styling a shoot with Jigsaw Menswear and Grey Fox blog earlier this year we popped this shirt under a wool suit. Although it's designed as an overshirt to wear with jeans and a t-shirt, we were very pleased with the results. Add a felt tote bag trimmed in leather like this one and you'll be ready to stride into 2016 in style!

I've bought many things from Folk in the past with clients, and though this coat wasn't one of them, it ticks all the style boxes. Classic shape - tick, subtle colour - tick, long enough to wear over a suit or blazer but not too long to be cumbersome - tick, great textured fabric - tick. Pair with these sturdy derbies from grenson for a contemporary classic look.
