Summer Blazers
When it's hot the level of formality tends to slide, and that's where a lightweight, unstructured blazer comes in handy. A blazer will always smarten things up but you can get away with cool linen's and cottons for Summer and an unlined style will keep the layers to a minimum. Wear with lightweight chinos and a crisp white shirt for office attire or use it smarten up a t-shirt and jeans for the evening.
Here, I've picked the best of the summer versions still around:
I love the soft brown colour of this linen blazer from Tiger of Sweden. It looks really fresh with white as shown here, and perfect with navy and light blue, or you could make it look really suave with shades of rust and terracotta. Tiger of Sweden is generally suited to slimmer guys who will look great in it's neat, slim lapels.
In a tiny blue and white houndstooth check this Officine Generale cotton blazer adds a great bit of texture to the plain items in your wardrobe. Wear it with stone chinos, smarter navy trousers, jeans or even shorts, and dress it up with a pocket square or down with a t-shirt.
If you're looking for something different then John Varvatos provides it with this cotton/linen blazer which buttons all the way to the collar. With a bit of a rock'n'roll feel to it this would be a great jacket to wear in the evening with jeans to give a completely different feel to your regular suit jacket. I can see it looking great with a forest green t-shirt, light grey jeans and Converse.
You'd better hurry to get your hands on this bargain piece from Philippe Model at Yoox as there's only one left! Very light and unstructured it might just be your ideal holiday piece to go with linen trousers or shorts and loafers.
